The National Center of Folk Music and Dance was established on December 14, 2022 in Yerevan. The main and important goal of the organization’s activities is the implementation of joint cultural activities in the fields of folk music and dance. Particularly the preservation and development of performing arts traditions. The formation and satisfaction of the spiritual demands of society, high artistic value ensuring the result, internationalization, increasing the public rating, making the cultural community aware of Armenian folk art.

The Center includes the Armenian State “Altounian” Folk Ensemble (1938), Armenian State Dance Ensemble (1958), Armenian National Instruments State Orchestra (2005), Armenian State “Barekamutyun” Dance Ensemble (1987), Armenian State “Akunq” Ethnographic Ensemble (1974). From 2022 the center is headed by art producer Armen Sargsyan.
