“AKUNQ” ETHNOGRAPHIC STATE ENSEMBLE OF ARMENIA | 50TH ANNIVERSARY JUBILEE CONCERT

Folk music and dance national center’s “Akunq” ethnographic state ensemble old Armenia will perform a jubilee concert program dedicated to the 50th anniversary of its foundation.

The Ethnographic State Ensemble of Armenia “Akunq” was founded in 1974 by folklorist, ethnographer Maro Muradyan.

For about 50 years and even today, about two dozen singers of the older, middle and young generations continue the work of Hayrik Muradyan, a devotee of Armenian song, keeping alive his appeal to “stay Armenian and live Armenian”.

During the jubilee concert program, the singers and musicians will perform the pieces that have become the ensemble’s calling card, popular and in demand over the years.
